GCPA Selects Allison Piper as 2017 President

The Gulf Coast Power Association named Allison Piper as president of the board at its January board meeting. Allison is President of Manhattan Resources. She has been on the GCPA board of directors starting in 2014 and was the Vice President in 2016.

Allison Piper is an experienced senior executive with over 15 years’ experience in the deregulated electricity markets. She was named as President of Manhattan Resources, an executive search and consulting firm, in August 2016. Allison has worked in retail energy since 1999, culminating in positions as Chief Operating Officer at StarTex Power and Spark Energy, Inc.   Allison is a founding member and former Chair of the GCPA emPOWERing Women committee which provides scholarship, networking and mentoring services to women in the electricity industry. She formerly served as the golf tournament co-chair for the biannual GCPA conferences and continues to assist with the emPOWERing Women annual leadership conferences, compiling panels and most recently moderating a panel at the 2016 conference in Austin.

Allison served as an independent retail electric provider representative on the ERCOT Technical Advisory Committee in 2013, and volunteers as a board member on the Tulane University Energy Institute Advisory Board. Allison holds an MBA in Finance and Information Systems from Tulane University in New Orleans, a master's degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a bachelor's degree from Clarkson University in New York.
