Austin April 2016 Luncheon

"Solar Development in Texas"

2016 is on track to be a milestone year for solar. Solar installations are growing substantially in Texas and in the U.S. Last year solar grew by almost 50% in ERCOT. Nationally, it accounted for nearly 30% of new electric generating capacity. This session will provide an overview of the business and policy drivers behind this growth, consumer attitudes and technological trends.

Christine Wright joined the SolarCity policy team in July of 2015. She previously worked at the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT), where she was responsible for developing and implementing policies for retail and wholesale competitive markets. At the PUCT, she led staff teams on numerous rulemaking projects, provided expert testimony and negotiated settlements among interveners in contested cases. Before working at the PUCT she was employed by Energy Strategies, LLC., where she focused on energy procurement, contract negotiation, demand-side management and external affairs.
