"Advanced Energy in Business"

“Advanced energy” encompasses a broad range of products and services that constitute the best available technologies for meeting energy needs today and tomorrow. Among these are energy efficiency, energy storage, demand response, natural gas electric generation, solar, wind, hydro, nuclear, electric vehicles, biofuels and smart grid.  Suzanne will provide an overview of the advanced energy market in Texas, and what Texas Advanced Energy Business Alliance (TAEBA) is doing to promote growth of advanced energy in Texas.

As Executive Director, Suzanne Bertin leads TAEBA’s efforts to promote the advanced energy industry in the State of Texas. Immediately prior to joining TAEBA, Suzanne handled regulatory and government affairs in Texas and the Southeast for EnerNOC, a global leader in demand response and energy intelligence software.  Suzanne was also at Reliant (later bought by NRG) for more than a decade, where she worked on a wide range of wholesale and retail legislative and regulatory issues, from the inception of the competitive retail market in ERCOT through its first eleven years of operation.  In these roles, Suzanne has worked on issues relating to various advanced energy technologies including energy efficiency, demand response, natural gas, solar, wind, electric vehicles, and smart grid. Suzanne holds a Master of Public Affairs degree from the LBJ School at the University of Texas at Austin.  Suzanne also holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts (Managerial Studies), both from Rice University in Houston, Texas.
