Austin October 2017 Luncheon

"One Size Fits All Doesn't Fit the Modern Grid"

Our speaker Ingmar Sterzing will discuss the strategy and approach Pedernales Electric Cooperative is taking to grid modernization and to deliver on their 80 year tradition to deliver low cost, reliable energy. Ingmar is VP of Power Supply and Energy Services at PEC and is focused on reshaping PECs energy portfolio and creating sustainable energy policies and services. Now, more than ever, energy consumers have choices and expect unique and specific products and services that are enabled by new technologies. These expectations are moving faster than the traditional one size fits all utility approach can support. Ingmar will share PECs approach to investing in the right infrastructure, policies, programs, and rates to enable customers to benefit directly from their investment in new technologies or changes in behavior while staying true to a competitive utility business model and fair and equitable cost of service principles.

Ingmar Sterzing is currently serving as Vice President of Power Supply and Energy Services for Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) in Johnson City, Texas. Ingmar has held leadership positions at Westinghouse Electric Company, General Electric, the Lower Colorado River Authority and LS Power, where he managed fuel and power operations, developed and constructed new power plants and transmission assets, and managed a portfolio of power plants. Sterzing holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from University of Texas at Austin. He also earned a Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering from North Carolina State University in Raleigh.
