Empowering an Inclusive Workplace

A Workshop by Jennifer Rochelle

Have you ever silently but uncomfortably witnessed political incorrectness while at work?  Have you ever been at a loss as to how to respond to an inappropriate joke?  Have you ever not applied for a promotion but you didn’t meet 100% of the qualifications?  Have you ever failed to even ask for more money before accepting a job?  Do you consistently overuse exclamation points in your emails?

In other words, are you a woman who currently works in a job that requires that you interact with other human beings?  Then this workshop is for you!

Join energy consultant and certified life coach, Jenni Rochelle, for an informative, eye-opening and uplifting afternoon exploring what can be emotionally-charged subjects in a safe and (she promises!) light-hearted environment.

Part I: Finding the Middle Path (1 hour)

We’ve all be there.  As women, we’ve all experienced those uncomfortable moments when a co-worker makes a comments that is inappropriate or downright offensive.  Often, we are caught off guard and either go into “fight or flight” mode.  We either laugh nervously, say nothing and then kick ourselves for being a coward later or we react so strongly that we are dismissed as being too sensitive or just another angry female.  The purpose of this workshop is to show you in how to respond in a better way.  There is a way to respond to inappropriate comments – in the moment – that promotes inclusivity and without compromising our own values.  You will walk away from this workshop with a thought out, rehearsed response that will allow you to respond in an empowered and productive way.    There will be role play.  You will laugh hysterically.  Guaranteed.

Part II: Getting Out of Our Own Way (1 hour)

Sometimes, as women, we are own worst enemy.  From our body language to our negative self-talk to our negotiation skills to our tendency to over use exclamation points emails, we often undermine our own careers by our lack of self-confidence and our overriding need to please.  Moreover, we not only undermine ourselves but we also undermine other women by coming from a place of scarcity or competition.  This portion of the workshop will focus on identifying the ways in which we get in our own way and the way of other women. You will walk away from this workshop with increased self-awareness that will empower you to become your own PR expert without doing it on the backs of other women.  We all do some of this.  You are not alone.  Guaranteed.

Those who cannot attend in person will be able to join via WebEx for the same price.
