This is the fourteenth meeting in our breakfast series held in Mexico City under the auspices of the Gulf Coast Power Association (GCPA). On this occasion, ICIS and the Women's Energy Network (WEN) Chapter Mexico have joined efforts with GCPA to present this discussion. Updated topic:  In this breakfast, we will discuss how suppliers can best serve the Mexico energy market, the benefits of new suppliers and the potential barriers to entry. We will also discuss related international experience to better understand how projects sponsors can help to meet the clean energy goals in Mexico.

 

Barbara Clemenhagen is the Vice, President of Market Intelligence for Customized Energy Solutions. Based in Austin, Texas, Barbara is an expert in regulatory advocacy and market design, with a focus on the North American energy markets. During her extensive career she has taken on projects that range from strategic to operational, and include market design, regulatory, project finance, acquisitions and divestitures. Barbara served on the ERCOT Board of Directors. She began her career in the 1990’s at BC Hydro and served as a Commissioner at the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC).
 
Ruth Guevara is founding partner of Zumma Energy Consulting since 2009, assisting clients in a broad range of energy projects in Mexico. Ruth has experience in power market regulation, assessing data-driven market sizing for natural gas and power projects, and recently has conducted buyers' and sellers' bidding process for energy and clean energy certificates. Ruth holds the BS in Economics from ITAM and a Diploma in International Business and Finance from New York University (NYU). Ruth has worked for the United Nations (UN), The Economist Group in NYC and the Mexican Ministry of Economy. She has over 10 years of consulting experience.
