2019 was an eventful year for ERCOT’s wholesale electricity markets. Our speaker Carrie Bivens will provide a review of the 2019 market results from the IMM’s perspective, including a close look at key recommendations for improving market efficiency.
Carrie is Vice President and ERCOT IMM Director at Potomac Economics. The Independent Market Monitor (IMM) has responsibility for monitoring and evaluating the functioning of the wholesale electricity market in the ERCOT region, including detecting and investigating anti-competitive behavior. Previously, she worked at the ERCOT ISO for over 13 years, most recently in the role of Director of Wholesale Operations overseeing the operations of the congestion revenue rights auctions, the day-ahead market, and demand integration. She started her professional career at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and has a B.B.A. in Operations Management from the University of Houston.
