Professional Bio


Barbara is the Executive Director of the Gulf Coast Power Association and a seasoned energy executive with a wealth of experience in commodity markets and energy policy. Known for her leadership skills, she has successfully guided teams and organizations to achieve remarkable results in competitive power markets. Throughout her career, Barbara has taken on diverse projects, from strategic planning to market design, while advocating for fair and efficient market rules that benefit investors, operators, retailers, and consumers.

Outside of her professional accomplishments, Barbara enjoys a richly fulfilling personal life. She's married to her supportive husband, Jeff, and together they cherish their blended family, including her wonderful bonus “kids”, Carson and Alex. Their home is lively and warm, with three beloved dogs—Josie, Solo, and Lando—who add joy to their everyday lives.

Dedicated to giving back to her community, Barbara serves on the board of the March of Dimes and has contributed her time to the Central Texas SPCA. Additionally, she is a proud member of the development committee for the Ann Richards School Foundation, further exemplifying her commitment to education and empowerment.

In addition to her role as Executive Director, Barbara provides part-time consulting at Customized Energy Solutions, leveraging her extensive expertise in energy market intelligence. She has contributed significantly to several organizations, including serving on the ERCOT Board of Directors and chairing the ERCOT Wholesale Market Subcommittee.
