This is the thirteenth meeting of a series of breakfasts to be held in Mexico City under the auspices of the Gulf Coast Power Association (GCPA). In this breakfast we will discuss the perspective of the solar and wind energies on the Mexican wholesale electricity market.
Hector Olea is president of the Mexican Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy (ASOLMEX for its initials in Spanish). Since 2004 he is President and CEO of Gauss Energía. Between 1995 and 2000 he served as Chairman of the Mexican Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE). From 2001-2004 he was president and CEO of Suez-Tractebel Mexico. Mr. Olea holds a BS in Economics from ITAM and a Masters and Ph.D. in Economics from Rice University.
Leopoldo Rodríguez is president of the Mexican Wind Energy Association (AMDEE for its initials in Spanish). Mr. Rodriguez is Deputy Director General of Energía Eléctrica BAL. Previously, he was Renewable Energy Manager at Industrias Peñoles. Coordinator of the Sustainable Energy Working Group at the Private Sector's Commission for Studies on Sustainable Development (CESPEDES). Mr. Rodríguez is an Electrical Mechanical Engineer from La Salle University and holds an MBA from ITAM.
