"Energy Reform in Mexico: Implications to the Energy Sector"

The presentation will explain the energy reform that was just approved by the Mexican Government, and its implications on the Mexican Power Market. It will focus on the expected changes, on the new regulatory framework and the opportunities that arise from this reform.

Raúl Livas has developed a career that mixes both the public and the private sector, focused mainly in the energy sector. He has a vast experience in business development, public policy, investments and planning. Past positions in the public sector include COO, Petróleos Mexicanos  [Pemex] (2006–2009); Pemex Director, Petrochemical Division (1997–1998); Pemex Planning Corporative Director (1998–1999); Energy Policy Unity Chief, Ministry of Energy [SENER] (1996–1997); and Energy Secretary Advisors coordinator  (1995–1996). Past positions in the private sector include CEO, OESIA México (2010-2011); Business Developer Director, Intellego (2005–2006); CEO, MXV Capital Ventures (2003–2005); Consulting Partner, GEA (2001–2003); and Research Director, Vector Casa de Bolsa (1999–2001).

Rodrigo Favela Fierro has a 20 years’ experience in in strategic planning, technology, business development, investments, operations, and energetic solutions for the energy sector. He has 15 years experience at Pemex including serving as Planning Subdirector in their Refinery Division from 2007-10 as well as responsibility for crude oil international commerce; strategic planning; optimization; performance evaluation; benchmarking; supervision and coordination of oil and its derivatives supply chain; project development; and investment budget management. Fierro has also served as a consultant to Hart Energy and as an independent environmental consultant for chemical related companies.
