"ERCOT in 2016: Transition & Continuity"

As ERCOT enters 2016, the organization is undergoing significant transitions in leadership, and continues to examine critical issues affecting markets and reliability.  In this presentation, incoming ERCOT CEO Bill Magness will discuss his views of what is changing and what remains on course as we move into the new year.

Our speaker Bill Magness has most recently served as General Counsel & Senior Vice-President of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Inc. (ERCOT). Prior to joining ERCOT in 2010, Bill was with the law firm of Casey, Gentz & Magness, in Austin, Texas, where he represented ERCOT as outside counsel in numerous cases before the Public Utility Commission of Texas.  For over twenty years, his law practice focused on electric and telecommunications utility matters.  He served as lead counsel in cases before utility commissions in sixteen states and the U.S. Virgin Islands. In addition, Bill also served as an Assistant United States Attorney and as  chief of the Office of Customer Protection and chief counsel of Office of Policy Development at the Public Utility Commission of Texas. Bill holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a J.D. from The University of Pennsylvania Law School.
